The most outstanding property of silicone rubber is its ability to operate in extreme temperatures; it is strong, resilient and stretchable and will perform in temperatures from -120 to 500º F. Silicone resists the deteriorating effects of the outdoor environment and has excellent vibration dampening characteristics over a wide range of frequencies and temperature. Silicone retains good electrical properties, such as dielectric strength at elevated temperatures, and has excellent ozone resistance. When exposed to direct flame, it burns to a non-conducting ash. Compounds can be formulated to meet FDA, ASTM and many other specifications.
