Introduction:

In a continuing effort to introduce unique, high performing silicone masterbatches, SilCoTec is pleased to offer Pigment Masterbatches that are in compliance with the ISO 10993-5 Testing Standard for medical devices. The pigment masterbatches have been tested and are also currently used in applications that require compliance with the ISO 10993-5 Standard for Cytotoxicity.

Uses & Applications:

The ISO 10993-5 Masterbatches can be used in a variety of applications, including:

• The primary applications would be for parts made for medical devices. This can range from grips to Instrument Testing Parts to Tubing
• In addition to medical device applications, these pigments can also be used in FDA applications, specifically for FDA CFR 177.2600 for indirect food contact.
• The pigment masterbatches can be blended with each other to achieve custom colors or to be matched to various color standards such as Federal Standards or Pantone colors.
• The pigments can be combined with SilCoTec's self-bonding compounds for applications that require bonding to a substrate.
• These pigments are not recommended for Medical Implants or Devices designed to be implanted into the human body for a long period of time.

Advantages:

The ISO 10993-5 Masterbatches can be customized in many ways, including, but not limited to:

• High Consistency Masterbatches or Liquid Dispersion Masterbatches
• For Liquid Dispersions, Viscosity and\or loading customizations.
• For Liquid Dispersions and High Consistency Masterbatches, the Carrier used can be customized to fit the application and need.
